my question is can you as a jw live on same premises as a non jw.... in split house/property with no sexual relations or anything involved... i am being forced to move due to a "sister" wanting to go back to her god and has made the point of saying she cannot have a male around.

even though the property itself is split with seperate access for both parts of the house.. she has put a blanket rule out saying the whole property itself... doesnt make sense to me nor to any of the elders i have spoken to regarding the matter.. yes i called them as i know next to nothing about the faith.. .

i find it strange that two elders urge a non jw to seek justice from fair trading and rental tribunal as they themselves do not belive the actions of the "sister" in question or her family to be correct or right... .

Without giving details, the same thing happened to me. I went to court and the judge tried to reason with the contender. There were separate entrances and random chance of my "bumping" into the person wanting the entire property.

That person said "no" to the judge's reasoning, which would have been equitable to both parties. Due to the nature of the situation, I eventually left but with a large financial settlement. The person wanting me out incurred losses beyond monetary.

A Little Direction Please

i'm an active elder, cobe, just got home from the meeting where i handled the treasures part and concluded by announcing a friend of mine has been d/f,.....blah blah blah...and over the last year have woken up.

i simply cannot spill my guts to my wife and children as it would be family suicide.

i have zero desire to bash, spread my feelings, or become an "apostate".

I cannot add much to the helpful, tried-and-tested suggestions already offered.

Leaving "The Truth" some years ago has produced certain residual effects and collateral damage, even in my dreams. Just last night I dreamed I was at the convention (no more, in reality) and my family looked at me, averted their brief gaze, and walked on. Dreams are so mixed up -- I was at the convention, being a good JW!

Those ongoing dreams reflect my daily reality. It's sad, but I remain hopeful. I stay busy with meaningful activities and associate with people who care.

my roommate bought a new dell laptop, operated by windows 10. in the three weeks he's had it, it's online then goes offline (and this repeatedly): when he goes from one e-mail to another, when he engages in a financial transaction, when he opens a new webpage, etc.

he does the basic rebooting, as prescribed in the article whose link is attached.

his pc and my older dell and apple powerbook are all on wifi.

to quote someone near and dear: they should have built the whole kingdom hall out of the same thing they built the signs.... i had to wait nearly two weeks to get into the neighborhood to get these pictures for your voyeuristic interests...this is peanuts compared to the over 5,000 homes that were destroyed (this number includes individual units in large apartment complexes that were completely razed).

those pictures and videos are available in the media.

Insurers will pay for the trees, but I don't know how the damage is rated and what they end up paying.

Thanks, Simon, for your observation.

As you might recall, I have brought up my issues here, re: my DELL laptop and Apple PowerBook G4.

The DELL, with Windows Ultimate 7, has been virtually trouble-free, and it is second-hand. The Apple, also second-hand and a much more expensive laptop, is great for photos; however, more and more apps and webpages are unavailable to me because it will not upgrade.

I love my little, cheapie DELL.

It may not necessarily be Windows 10 but could be an issue with the wifi adaptor (hardware) in his laptop. -- Incognito

Tech came out today and replaced the above.

Witness Royalty and the last day at the "Towers"

my uber elder cousin and his wife got the "privilege" of having one last "toast" of wine at the rooftop garden at the towers in nyc since the jw's are vacating to warwick.

his oldest daughter and son in law are quite high up in the inner circle so they get invited to all the "inner circle" activities.

even though they aren't supposed to toast to anything it was pretty darn close.
